>>>FIRST THOUGHTS
It was 1966. Bill Bright was the evening speaker at Arrowhead Springs, Campus Crusade for Christ's training center in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California. I'd endured the bus ride, with other college and university students from Seattle, to get a week's training in evangelism and discipleship. It was a formative week for me--and like thousands of other ministry leaders since 1951 (see the note on Larry Burkett in this issue), our lives have been marked by Bill Bright and his vision, his love for Christ, and his passion for lost people.
When Bill Bright died on July 19, the Christian world paused and reflected on the power of one person's faithfulness and fruitfulness--when fully devoted to Christ. Today, Campus Crusade is served by more than 26,000 full-time staff and 225,000 trained volunteers in 191 countries around the world and is comprised of some 60 different ministries and projects. Praise the Lord. --John Pearson
